Riverbank
Autumn
The walnuts split simply
between two stones
under the pomegranate tree.
Winter
We never found
the toy soldiers
sunk in the irrigation mud
between one summer day
and the next.
Spring
Mary mother
in the garden.
Pale stone
and virgin,
beneath the red roses.
Summer
The chickens
climb
the jasmine
bush
And try to
fly
on perfumed
air.
